Connections, light, universes, to SEE, to understand, to GROW…

This book that I read, The Emerald Game, doesn’t seem to leave me alone these days. I started to read Zig Ziglar at this moment, which made me rethink the theories about personal discipline and AIESEC…but still I have to pay a debt to myself and clarify my thoughts regarding another subject.

I always felt that I have an inner universe, or somehow another world in which I dive with great pleasure to understand it and to feel it. I know that I wrote in my thoughts after the ‘no sleep night’ about it. What I discovered in this book is the smart/wise explanation of the things that only my intuition felt, but again…I couldn’t express.

Again Ioan Petru Culianu presents the theory like this, speaking about a person that doesn’t have deep understanding of the world, facts or him:

“I realised from the beginning that too little knowledge will come from this man, Lucretius. It’s not only that he doesn’t understand the connection of things in the world, in our case the superior world and inferior world, but I observed another limit in his thinking.

Take my words literally, if you want. His eyes were situated from his birth, in a niche so narrow and so fix, that he cannot try to look inside. This is why he cannot identify the continuity between the inner world, unperceived, and the perceived one from exterior; he believes that the 2 worlds have to be approached in a different way, one being invisible mystery, the other one seeming clear as the daylight. Such a person imagines himself separated from his Creator, of course, because he sees the world where he lives, and not himself, the one that is building it at every moment.

Life is guided by 2 kind of dualities for such persons: first the visible and the invisible (the Creator and the human being for example), then the visible entities divided in parts because of his specific ocular proprieties; which means that he sees only the limits; the differences.

Because of his incapacity to ‘see’, such a person – and a lot of them are like this – are caught in their own dreams. Why, would you ask, and how can it be explained?
Well, imagine that you are an actor and spectator in he same time in a play written by you.
Forget now that you are a spectator – you can easily do this by looking only from the actor point of view. Very good! You will start assuming that, if your role is not senseless is played for the Creator. He sees all the details, even if only the refrains, but he sets there in the dark following you.
Now, forget that you wrote the play, that you create it in every moment. How powerless do you feel! No doubt, the Creator has more power than you. Then you will start imagining that he is the one that wrote the play and put you to act. When you will finish, he will evaluate your performing and dispose of you as He wants.

Now, imagine something else. I made you writer of the play, spectator, director, and even scene and some actors in the same time.

Now imagine a single actor, nothing much. You will have to fight with forces that tact without a pause, about whom, you don’t know that they are you, and thus they don’t know that are you. Your blindness determines their ignorance, because their ignorance is your ignorance. Suddenly you become a prisoner in your own scenario, your own victim, an adept without ruler. You are The Other Person, you don not exist anymore.

…this is the wonderful mystery. That the world around us is created by our mind.”

Besides other meaning for me this words brought me some clear explanations of former thoughts:

- First that every human being is in itself a universe that needs to be discovered and understood FIRST in order to gain understanding of the world in general

- Second that we are our own “rulers”, the ones that write the play, are the actors, are the scene, the spectators, the director. We decide WHO we play, HOW to play the part, JUDGE the performance, and can CHANGE the play. From this point forward questions like: “why do we care so much about what other people say”, “why do we complain that the world is against us so we cannot do things” - arise in my mind…

- The third very important conclusion is the connection between my inner world and the world outside: the other universes (persons).
First, if the inner world is understood, defined, controlled fully by myself means that the outside events will be properly chosen, influenced and understood all the time. They will contribute with sense to the growing and learning of my universe.
Second is that a properly understood inner universe will have positive influence to the other universes, helping them grow. The common parts identified between universes (people) will build on each other and bring more harmony and growth, evolution. It will determine common things, resembling things, patterns, connections – and connections determine the evolution to next levels….

Yes, these are the thoughts: connections, light, growth, people = universes, inner – outer worlds, to SEE, to understand, to grow…
